World War One Cemeteries

This is a site of remembrance for those of the First World War dead buried in Military Cemeteries in France or Belgium or commemorated on Memorials in those countries and Gallipoli.

It also commemorates the war dead listed on the Village War Memorials in the Warwickshire villages of Brandon, Brinklow, Church Lawford, Churchover, Combrook, Easenhall, Harborough Magna, Monks Kirby, Pailton, Willey, Withybrook and Wolston.

Military Cemeteries

The ‘Military Cemeteries’ section in essence is a personal Pilgrimage to the Western Front, has pages for France and Belgium containing a view of each cemetery and describes its location. This is followed by a  selection of views of individual graves with the casualties’ details and in some instances information about the individuals’ military service.

Memorials in France or Belgium and Gallipoli.

The 'Memorials' page contains a view of each Memorial and describes its whereabouts.  The Memorials commemorate casualties with no known grave, Divisional and similar regimental Memorials and Private Memorials. The Gallipoli page describes a personal selection of Memorials and Cemeteries on the Peninsula.

Village War Memorials

The ‘Village War Memorials’ page contains a view of each Memorial with a summary of the individuals’ military service and some personal information. This augments the bare details of the names on the Memorials for the benefit of present and future generations.

Some of the information on this website and a very few of the images have been obtained from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission with the Commission's consent.  I would like to thank  the Commission for their assistance.
